Tuffet Making

Join Diane to create your own custom tuffet, fit for a queen! Add a little spice to your decor with this fun footstool. The pre-printed interfacing will help us with perfect placement. Kit required includes all hardware to finish your tuffet, you get to choose your own fabrics. Sewing machine required.

Please bring the following:

-Sewing Machine 

-Power cord and foot pedal

-1/4”foot, Open-Toe foot or your all Purpose foot (I used the Open Toe foot)

-Sewing thread to match your fabrics

-Rotary cutter with a sharp blade

-Add-A-Quarter Plus ruler (this will make your project go much smoother)

-Straight Pins and a magnetic dish to hold them

-Scissors: Large Paper and small fabric 

-Universal Needles for piecing

-Sewing needles- the largest eye needle you can find 

-Upholstery Needles by Dritz (We will use the 6 and 12 inch sizes)

-Upholstery thread or a heavy cotton thread 

-Awl

-Marking Pen

-Sewing gauge

-Mini iron and ironing surface (you will do a lot of ironing)

-Usual Sewing supplies

Fabrics:  Please bring already cut

-64 fabric strips 2” wide x 21” long (the fabrics are your choice.  Each panel takes 8 different fabric strips.

-1 Fat quarter (this piece will cover the bottom of the tuffet: it is optional)

-1 4 1/2” piece of fabric to cover the button

-2 yards of ironed white muslin (this will get fused to the interfacing)


The Kit includes:

-Two 18” pieced fabric foundation panels

-Four buns feet with 5/16”-18 hanger bolt already installed

-Plywood round form and 6” upholstery foam (already assembled)

-Upholstery batting

-One button

-Cording (enough for entire project)
